Photowalk at the Pacific Quay in Glasgow, capture images of the Science Centre, Armadillo and the Hydro Arena, along with the Clyde and several bridges over it.

Chase the Sun - Ayr

There is an epic cycle event finishing on Ayr seafront (near Horizon Hotel as event HQ) on Saturday 22nd June 18:00 - 21:00.

The organisers, “Chase the Sun”, have asked if Irvine Camera Club members can capture the riders finishing their 200+mile cycle from coast to coast, sunrise to try and beat sunset at Ayr!

It’s just about capturing as many of the cyclists as possible - we know you won’t be able to capture...

Conditions can sometimes be muddy underfoot, so wear appropriate footwear.

There are two routes to the top of the hill, one is reasonable and one is a little more strenuous.

Gleniffer Braes Photowalk

"On Tuesday 30th April we head up to a part of Gleniffer Braes Country Park that is possibly less familiar to non-Buddiesthan the main sections.

Pollok Country Park is Glasgows largest park.

It is home to Pollok House and also the Burrell Collection Museum.

There is plenty to see and photograph within the park, including Highland Cows and lots of other animals/wildlife.

Parking is available for £5.00 for up to 4 hours, or £10 for all day if you prefer it.

Entry to the Burrell Collection museum is free of charge.

Unfortunately Pollok House is currently closed to the public for refurbishment.

There is a cafe and public toilets in the park

Photowalk at Buchanan Wharf and the Clydeside in Glasgow.

Meet up at the Tradeston Bridge (Squiggly Bridge) on Clyde Place Quay, just on the opposite side of the River from the Grosvenor Casino.

There is plenty of free parking available at The Quay on Paisley Road, which is a 10 minute walk away.

Alternatively you can travel in by train, Glasgow Central is less than 10 minutes walk from this location.

C7 DPI Panel Judging Evening - With Judge Dave Ferguson

Another workshop for our beginners group - this time we will be working with 2 light sources to demonstrate how we can add extra interest and depth to our images. 

These sessions will be led by Andy Millar and are for those members who are interested in furthering their experience with working in a studio environment.  

At tonight's workshop, we will be working with one light source to create different lighting patterns.

Alastair Jackson is a photographer originally from Skye, now living in Fairlie  

He has travelled around 42 islands on the West Coast of Scotland and will be providing a presentation, based on his travels.

Alastair will be bringing along copies of his Island Hopping booklet with him. These will be available to purchase for £5, with £1 going to Alzheimer’s Scotland.

He was awarded Photographer of the Year and Portrait Photographer of the Year in 2019 by The British Institute of Professional Photography

C2/3 - Print Competition hand in closes tonight.

We realise that there are several new members who would like to enter the C2 (Mono Print) and C3 (Colour Print) competitons next Tuesday but who are struggling to get their prints mounted.

• To ensure that no one misses out Tracy, Clive, David and Bob will be set up at the back of the room on Tuesday night to mount your prints for you.
