Happy New Year from Irvine Camera Club. We are back for our weekly meetups and this week we had the first part of our Ian Davidson Memorial Knockout Competition where members are asked to submit images which are then shuffled up and projected side by side during the evening. Through a series of elimination rounds, images get knocked out until we are left with a winner. Images that are knocked out also receive supporting and helpful comments which again provides discussion points especially if it loses out to a cute animal.
We are lucky to have so many active members and with so many entries submitted, this takes place over two weeks with lots of discussion and some catching up after the break. It’s a great way to start the year and with lots of brilliant images to look through it provides inspiration to get out with the camera and make photographic plans for the year.
We will discover who the overall winner is next week, but this week we present some images that did not make it through to the final rounds.
