As the evenings draw in, we approach the end of our Summer Season at Irvine Camera Club and start to look forward to our Autumn season of talks, competitions and practical evenings.
This week's collection of images was captured during an evening visit to East Kilbride where we met up with members of East Kilbride Camera Club. Our camera club prides itself on how social we are, both within our local community, helping out where possible, but also in building connections with other camera clubs. It is always fun to meet up with clubs on their turf and have them show you around as you often get to see things you would have missed if travelling alone as well as making some new friends.
On this occasion, the light of the evening seemed to pull in quick and as is often the case when looking for images with poor light, a graveyard is a popular choice. Full of history and interesting things to photograph, it is a location we often find ourselves in. Another place we often find ourselves is the comfort of a pub, with the weather as unpredictable as it often is, pubs, coffee shops or ice cream parlours are often considered as back up plans when organising our club walks. We like to think it is all about the photography, but I often hear the phrase “so where’s the ice cream tonight”.
The Autumn seasons is now underway with a packed season of talks, competitions and practical evenings. We meet on Tuesdays, starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
If you have an interest in photography, would like to see what we are up to and want to be part of an exciting, all-inclusive club then why not come along, you will be made to feel very welcome. There’s always tea, coffee and biscuits and it you’re lucky Fiona may have been baking.
